With a standard cost of X credits, these items carry a good profit per unit, but may be too expensive for beginning pilots. They are illegal in many places, so brave pilots could make a bit of extra cash by smuggling animals. It is also important to remember that Live Animals need a cargo bay life support facility fitted - otherwise they die, and you suffer a large loss of profit.
