FRONTIER HELP - MINOR CHEATS

1. Seperating your Opponents
2. Stopping the Autopilot from crashing
3. Aiming with Turrets
4. Hills, Mountains and Habitation Domes
5. Getting to ELITE quickly

Seperating your Opponents

Maximum time acceleration will separate groups of ships. Once you have killed one pirate, put the Stardreamer up to the maximum acceleration, and the next pirate will arrive on his own; continue until you've destroyed the whole group.

Stopping the Autopilot from crashing

If you use maximum time acceleration and you are flying at a fast speed, the Autopilot will not crash into things.

Aiming with Turrets

When an enemy approaches, pause the game and go into your turret guns. You can still aim the turret guns when the game is paused, so aim at him and press the "fire" button. If you hit, you will see the blue or the explosion light effect. Keep firing while you unpause the game.

Although your lasers do no damage when the game is paused, you will be able to do quite a bit of damage to your opponent when you unpause the game. If you don't kill him, you can just pause the game and do the same again.

Hills, Mountains and Habitation Domes

Hills, Mountains and Habitation Domes, although they are displayed on your screen, are not really there. As such, you can fly through them, so you don't have to fear crashing into them.

Getting to ELITE quickly

Once you get photography or bombing missions, your ELITE rating can go up very quickly. Just buy a big ship (e.g. a Panther Clipper), and give it lots of shields, then get yourself a photography or bombing mission and stop about 10 km above the target station. Then destroy all nearby ships with an Energy Bomb. The ships that now start from the station fly directly into your shields and are destroyed, so, if you watch your altitude, you will soon get your Combat Rating up to ELITE. You can use the first level of time acceleration, but not the higher ones, because then the destroyed interceptors are not counted.
